Now that the semester is coming to an end and exams are around the corner I really enjoyed this unit very much and what it had to offer. My favorite task out of the three was by far the teaching and learning technologies. I believe I had gained the most information from that task as it was filled with skills that I could easily use in the future. My exam is on the 8^th of July and I have a lot of study a head of me J I am very thankful to have had such a great tutor and have really enjoyed this unit.

For the task teaching and learning technologies our group has chosen to complete a series of lesson plans for the students and teachers. Our educational topic is science. Within this topic we have created a task for year 7 students to complete. The task is called Veggie Garden Project, this project will consist of the students picking a veggie to plant each within a group. This will slowly form a veggie patch, the students each need to monitor the process of their veggie gardens via a blog and research about healthy fruit and veggies. The objective of this task is for the students to become more aware and have a better understanding of the healthy food groups and what a healthy diet should consist of. The students will also learn about the process of gardening and the steps involved. This task was one my favorite out of them all because I enjoyed getting all the information together and setting up lesson plans for the children to follow through with.

Researching technologies is an assignment I personally found really difficult, I couldn’t quite grasp the concept and therefore I had to ask another peer for extra help. Once choosing my area of interest which was mathematics, I then started searching for a book, journal article, referred conference paper, website and podcast in regards to teaching children the concepts of mathematics using different types of technologies.

Social technologies, is officially finished and I am feeling more then relieved. The task was an easy one and I really enjoyed it. To complete social technologies I had to undergo a number of steps, which consisted off…

1. Thinking of a social situation where social networking could assist in the organization of an event.

2. Examine and learn to use one social networking site which in this case was… www.facebook.com

3. And then investigate and describe what the networking site does.

Once completing these three steps I had to upload (screenshots) onto my website of how a person could experience facebook and the steps they would take to creating an event. I have made the steps simple and easy to understand. All in all the task was really joyful and I have gained a lot more useful information.

The first thing that was asked of me for living and learning with technology was to set up a website, text, photograph, hyperlink and blog. I found this task really simple and I also really enjoyed being ale to set up my yola website how I liked it. Not only did I enjoy the assignment, but then I was able to look at others websites and see how they went about the assignment, this way I could see how I was going and if I was on the right track.

Starting living and learning with technology has been a new and exciting challenge in my life, the lectures and tutorials have already given me a different outlook on the way I could teach technology skills to children of a young age. My tutor Dani is great and has helped my out with problems I wasn’t sure of from the moment I began. I am looking forward to completing my professional website and having the opportunity to use a range of different resources along the way. I can’t wait to actually get started so let the journey begin…

I have many interests that have grown on me through out my life, to name a few I love summer and due to this summer is the best time of the year to go to the beach, relax by the pool, chill out with friends and holiday to even sunnier parts of the world (As you can see from all the photo's I have uploaded onto my home page). My interests are what keeps me going and with out them I wouldn't be myself and defiantly wouldn't enjoy life to the fullest.

My name is Olivia Zara Ipsen and I am seventeen years of age. I have just currently graduated from Corpus Christi College in 2011. During high school I had always thought about continuing my studies further and the pathway that I thought suited me best was primary school teaching. Since enrolling in the course a Bachelor of Primary Education at Murdoch University I have really enjoyed what the course has to offer and I can't wait to learn more.

I live with my family (My dad, mum and sister) and find my self to be extremely close with all of them. I also have some of the most amazing friends that anyone could wish for, who I find myself spending every minute of the day with. With out my family and friends my life would be nothing like it is and I am so grateful to have them.
